HRSA SPNS
Cooperative Agreement
A grantee initiative funded by the
HIV/AIDS Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration
between October 1, 1994, and September 30, 1999, as Special Projects of
National Significance (SPNS).
The HIV/AIDS Bureau of the Health Resources
and Services Administration funded 27 grantees on October 1, 1994, for
periods of funding between two and five years. These projects were part of
a larger Cooperative Agreement designed to permit cross-cutting
evaluations of the grantee programs and the sharing of knowledge, methods,
and programs among grantees. Between 1994 and 1999, the Cooperative
Agreement grantees met approximately quarterly as a group with HRSA SPNS
Staff. Throughout the funding period, the grantees and HRSA were supported
by an Evaluation and Dissemination Center headed by The Measurement Group
and also including PROTOTYPES.
