Comprehensive Healthcare Programs in Three Settings: Mean Comparisons Across Knowledge, Importance, and Program Success

Expert ratings of the importance and successful implementation of three Comprehensive Healthcare projects were obtained through interviews with 69 key individuals with unique perspectives about these demonstration projects. Participants gave ratings of three dimensions - their own knowledge of various program elements, their perceived importance of those elements, and the projects' success in accomplishing those program elements. Several program elements were consistently rated highly for at least two of these dimensions, including enrolling and retaining clients in the program, involving consumers in the design and development of services, providing state-of-the-art HIV care, providing educational support to permit clients to cope with HIV, and disseminating information to the target community.
