Summary Psychosocial Service Profiles

This Knowledge Item shows the overall
psychosocial service profiles [presence or absence of a type of service]
received by more than 2000 clients in 10 innovative HIV/AIDS service
programs. Four of the programs were innovative university-based medical
programs providing medical and psychosocial support services while six
of the programs were innovative community-based organization support
models for HIV/AIDS patients who were maintained in medical treatment.
The Knowledge Items in this series cover the psychosocial support
services provided by the medical programs.
The ten programs
define a modal profile of state-of-the-art psychosocial support services
to be provided to HIV/AIDS clients with high levels of service need and
vulnerability.
The conclusion
presented here is solely that of The Measurement Group and may not be
that of the Health Resources and Services Administration, HIV/AIDS
Bureau, Special Projects of National Significance Program, nor that of
any of the grantees whose projects provide the data for this Knowledge
