Knowledge Item: CA-Psychosocial Services-13
Psychosocial Service Episode Profiles by Client Gender

This Knowledge Item shows the overall psychosocial service profiles [quantities of a type of service] received by more than 2000 clients by the gender of the client. Across all projects, there were statistically significant differences in service profiles for members of the different groups. Later, more sophisticated analyses control for confounding effects of the project at which the client was served.

Simply pooling data from the 10 projects, without controlling for the different types of services provided at individual projects (some of which are specifically targeted to males or females) suggests that there are differences among gender in the services received. See Knowledge Item CA-Psychosocial Services-18 in this series for a combined analysis that controls for project-specific effects and those from ethnic-racial group, age group, and gender of the client.
