From 1993 through 1999,
The Measurement Group has maintained a research center specializing in evaluation and results
dissemination for 10 grantees funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration
(HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau as Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS). The projects were funded
to develop models of HIV/AIDS care for youth.
The following links will take you to individual project
resource pages featuring reports, paper abstracts, multimedia presentations and
other materials by, and about, each project. Each project was funded in 1994 for a period
between two and five years, to develop an innovative model of HIV/AIDS care.
Adolescent Planetree (APT); Walden House, Inc., Adolescent
Program -
Walden House offers comprehensive treatment services designed
to meet the substance abuse, psychiatric, and medical health needs of
youth, specifically those identified as HIV-positive.
Bay Area Young Positives, Inc.
-
BAY Positives is a peer-run, peer-based organization that
provides psychosocial services to youth with HIV, with a heavy focus on
the development of young people.
"Boston HAPPENS" Program; Children's Hospital
Corporation -
The "Boston Happens" program provides a network of
care for HIV-positive, homeless, and at-risk youth, from street outreach
to counseling and testing, to primary care, and HIV specialty care.
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles
-
The
CHLA program links high-risk youth through outreach into HIV testing, HIV
risk-harm reduction, and health care services at the Los Angeles Free
Clinic.
Health Initiatives for Youth
-
HIFY is an set of youth-oriented services, resources, and
skill-building program that address the need for social and practical HIV
services to complement comprehensive healthcare services.
Indiana Youth Access Project
(IYAP) -
IYAP is a statewide organization that serves youth who identify
themselves as gay, lesbian, or bisexual.
Teenage Access Project; University of Alabama at Birmingham
-
The Teenage Access Project (TAP) seeks to expand and ensure
access to health and support services for disadvantaged, high-risk
adolescent and young adult females.
The Measurement Group Evaluation
and Dissemination
Center -
The Measurement Group run the Evaluation and Dissemination
Center for these grantees. This web site summarizes those activities.
TOPS Project; Greater Bridgeport Adolescent Pregnancy Program
- The Teen Outreach Primary Services (TOPS) Center provides outreach
to youth with HIV and high-risk-for-HIV inner-city minority youth, and
links them to health care and social services.
University of Minnesota Youth & AIDS Projects (YAP) -
Adolescents with HIV are identified through the existing system
of mandatory, name-linked reports of HIV cases to the Minnesota Department
of Health, which dispatches an Adolescent Early Intervention Specialist to
access health needs and link youth with care at YAP.
YouthCare Project
-
YouthCare provides outreach, referrals, HIV testing,
counseling, prevention and early intervention for street-involved,
homeless, and sexual minority youth.
The Evaluation and Dissemination Center is supported in part by
Grant Number 970153-05-0 from the Health Resources and Services Administration
(HRSA), HIV/AIDS Bureau's (HAB) Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS).
