Findings from The University of Vermont & State Agricultural
College Project
Three state-of-the-art HIV specialty clinics were opened in rural Vermont
between August 1994 and October 1996 to meet the goal of the delivery of a continuum of
medical care and psychosocial case management for persons with HIV/AIDS in rural areas. In
addition, project staff have created HIV "mini-residency" trainings available to
primary care providers, medical students, and residents in order to educate primary care
providers and enhance the psychosocial education of the community primary care team.
