Knowledge Item: CA-Training Characteristics and Training Quality-02
Training Attributes that Account for High Training
Quality Ratings:
Project Site
In the 604 trainings provided by
seven Cooperative Agreement projects (6,638 trainees), trainees rated their immediate post-training reactions
to the training on three scales – trainer knowledge, training quality, usefulness.
Ratings on these scales were highly correlated, and a reliable
composite score was formed (with an internal consistency of .84). The
average training quality rating was 4.30 (s.d. = .35) on a scale from "poor" (1)
to "excellent" (5). The 604 trainings were, on average, perceived as
between very good and excellent. Training
quality ratings were significantly different across project site with
training quality means ranging from 4.05 to 4.49, all indicating high
average quality but slight differences between sites.
