Current Psychological Distress Form

Main Purpose The purpose of this module is to develop a brief index of psychological distress for those projects that wish to assess changes in the construct.
 

Description
  • The 20-item CES-D has been used in numerous studies. Norms, scale characteristics, correlates, and changes are well-documented in the literature.
  • Administered in 3-5 minutes.
  • The CES-D is available in a 20-item format, an 8-item format, and a 4-item format.
  • The scale can either be self-administered or used in an interview format. Both formats are available.
Target Projects for Form
  • Any project using changes in psychological distress as a dependent measure to document client change.
Major Evaluation Function
  • Documenting change.
  • As an initial factor that may explain, to some degree, participation or the lack thereof in clinical programs.
