| Main Purpose |
The purpose of this module is to record feelings of self-efficacy or
mastery. |
| Description |
- Standardized index widely used since 1978. High scores indicate high levels of mastery.
Mastery is "the extent to which one regards ones life chances as being under
ones own control, in contrast to being fatalistically ruled."

- Projects serving individual clients seeking to document changes in self-efficacy.
- Might also be used as an indirect measure of staff burn-out.

- Measuring change in outcome for client-focused projects.
- May be used as a measure of empowerment for projects seeking to change HIV clients
sense of self-directedness.
