Module 73A: Modified Karnofsky and Disease Stage Scale: Draft of June 11, 1996


 
Main Purpose The purpose of this module is to provide a graphic way to rate the individual’s general health and current stage of HIV disease.
Description Module 73 form has three elements:
  • Overall rating of patient’s health (self-rating);
  • HIV-disease progression curve (with CD4 count and number of years since initial exposure); and
  • Karnofsky rating scale.

Module 73A form has:

  • Karnofsky rating scale; and
  • CD4 count and CD4 percent.
Target Projects for Form
  • Any project providing care to individual clients/patients.
Major Evaluation Function
  • To record and track current stage of disease; and
  • To provide a graphic interpretation of current stage of disease in terms of time since transmission and opportunistic infections that the individual has.
