Russell E. Brady was the project officer for the 10 national demonstration projects whose work is described in this volume. Russ started working with the projects in January 1994, right after funding decisions were announced. Russ was HRSA/HAB's SPNS project officer until he passed away in late November 1998.
This guide exists because Russ felt that the youth who worked in the national demonstration projects knew more about how to develop youth to work in programs serving youth than anyone else. Russ provided a supportive environment and told the "kids" to run with it.
As you will see from the work here, Russ had a very wise vision.
This volume is dedicated to the man the projects came to respect and love, and to the continuation of his vision.
