Links to Other Sites with Information on HIV/AIDS Treatment


The Measurement Group web site contains a number of links to the web pages of other projects and organizations that are developing innovative models of HIV/AIDS treatment. These are a few of those links. All of these sites can be accessed by clicking the button labeled "WWW Links" present on each of our pages.

The AIDS Program at Johns Hopkins University (www.hopkins-aids.edu) supports a site giving key information on the medical treatment of AIDS. Of particular importance is that the full text of The Medical Management of HIV by John G. Bartlett, M.D., is presented online.

Walden House is a multi-faceted substance abuse and HIV treatment organization in San Francisco that has a Special Projects of National Significance Program Grant from HRSA to develop a residential substance abuse treatment program for youth. The site is located at www.waldenhouse.org.

PROTOTYPES provides a comprehensive array of health, mental health, and substance abuse services to women and their children from offices in Los Angeles and the District of Columbia. The PROTOTYPES web site is located at www.prototypes.org and contains information about a number of treatment models for women with HIV.

The Interamerican College of Physicians and Surgeons is conducting a program to educate Hispanic physicians in the proper treatment of HIV/AIDS as well as the assessment of HIV infection risk among their patients. ICPS is a national organization of Hispanic physicians. The ICPS web page is located at www.users.interport.net/~icps. Materials are available on this web site in both English and Spanish.

The Well-Being Institute in Detroit, Michigan, provides services to drug-abusing women with HIV. The web site of the Well-Being Institute discusses their LIGHT Model of treatment. A key feature of the Well-Being Institute’s programs is that services are offered to drug-abusing women with HIV even before the women enter formal substance abuse treatment and abstinence. The Well-Being Institute web page is located at www.pnc-wbi.com.

The Infectious Diseases Division of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis sponsors the Helena Hatch Special Care Clinic for Women with HIV. This clinic provides a comprehensive continuum of care for women and their families. The web site for the division is located at www.id.wustl.edu.

The Minnesota Youth and AIDS Projects at the University of Minnesota provide medical and case management services to youth living with HIV in the State of Minnesota. The web site of this project is located at www.peds.umn.edu/Centers/YAP.

The Southeast AIDS Training and Education Center (SEATEC) at Emory University conducts targeted, multidisciplinary HIV education and training programs for health care providers. The SPNS Program-funded project at SEATEC provides training on HIV/AIDS in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Corrections.
