and Presentations from the Cross-Cutting Evaluation of the HRSA HIV/AIDS
Bureau's Special Projects of National Significance Cooperative Agreements
on Innovative HIV/AIDS Care [1994 - 2000] This is list of convention
presentations and publications from the cross-cutting evaluation of
27 national demonstration projects on innovative models of HIV/AIDS Care
funded between 1994 and 1999 as Special Projects of National Significance
by the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau. Papers are added to this list as they are
accepted for publication, so the list changes frequently. Only
cross-cutting evaluation dissemination products are listed.
Evaluation Modules on the World Wide
Web As part of its work for the
Evaluation and
Dissemination Center for the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau's
Special Projects of National Significance Cooperative Agreements, The
Measurement Group developed a large number of evaluation modules to be
used in studies of HIV/AIDS treatment, training, and infrastructure
development. Most of the modules are shown in this section along with
the context for their development and instructions for completing the
forms. These forms were originally developed, in many cases, to be scanned.

being expanded to cover a large number of reports on topics related to
human services program evaluations, needs assessments, and research into

Nurse Competence in Aging
Initiative Nurse Competence in Aging is a 5-year initiative funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies (USA) Inc., awarded to the American Nurses Association (ANA) through the American Nurses Foundation (ANF), and represents a strategic alliance between ANA, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the John A. Hartford Foundation Institute for Geriatric Nursing, New York University, The Steinhardt School of Education, Division of Nursing. The Measurement Group serves as the national evaluator for the Nurse Competence in Aging Initiative.

Archstone
Elder Neglect and Abuse Initiative The Measurement Group has
launched a new web site,
www.ElderAbuseNeglect.info, to support the
cross-cutting evaluation of the Archstone Foundation Elder Abuse and
Neglect Initiative. The goal of the Initiative is to improve the quality
and coordination of elder abuse and neglect services in the State of
California. Projects included in Phase I of the Initiative are focused
on professional education and training, multidisciplinary team
development, support of innovative projects, research and systems
analysis, convening and technical assistance.

Study of the
Long-Term Outcomes of Providing HRSA SPNS Funding to
Projects The
Measurement Group is currently performing a retrospective study of the
long-term outcomes and impact of projects funded by the Health Resources
and Services Administration, HIV/AIDS Bureau as Special Projects of
National Significance between 1991 and 2002 (01/21/05).

Interim Conclusions from the Cross-Cutting Evaluation of the Hartford Centers of Geriatric Nursing Excellence: A Component of the Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity Initiative
The John A. Hartford Foundation created five Hartford Centers of
Geriatric Nursing Excellence (HCGNEs), coordinated at the American
Academy of Nursing, as part of the John A. Hartford Foundation
Geriatric Nursing Initiative Building Academic Geriatric Nursing
Capacity Program. The goals of the HCGNEs are to provide enriched
and increased opportunities for training, research, clinical model
development, and policy development for nurses who would develop into
leaders in the next generation of geriatric nursing.

Preliminary Conclusions from the Cross-Cutting Evaluation of the Hartford Geriatric Nursing Initiative: Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity Coordinating Center at the American Academy of Nursing
In 2000, the John A. Hartford
Foundation launched the Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity (BAGNC)
Initiative. The American Academy of Nursing was selected as an active partner
that would provide a home for a Coordinating Center to facilitate the activities
of the programs and grantees who were part of the BAGNC Initiative (including
the John A. Hartford Geriatric Nursing Scholars program, the Hartford Centers of
Geriatric Nursing Excellence (HCGNE) and the Nursing School Geriatric Investment
Program (NSGIP)), foster communications among grantees and the Foundation, and
provide oversight of various kinds for the different programs.

Data Summary from the Evaluation of the John A. Hartford Foundation’s Geriatric Nursing Initiative Web-Based Activities
The
Hartford Geriatric Nursing Initiative (HGNI) includes programs
designed to increase the supply of geriatric nurses and the quality
of care provided to older adults by building academic geriatric
nursing capacity nationwide. Many of these efforts are conducted
using web-based technologies. This report presents a preliminary
summary of the HGNI Grantees’ web-based activities.
